Do you feel the spark?
I'm starting to feel it again. Just this week. After nearly a YEAR now of "Sheltering in Place" we've gotten into our hibernation groove, initial culture shock subsiding, weekly homebound rhythms getting stronger. But along with the covid has been the national political turmoil, anxiety for the soundness of our nation. Quite depressing. So hard to focus my mind on planning anything. A lot of us felt it. But now , thankfully, the reigns of power, are transferred. Our government is refocused back to their work. My worries are subsiding. My mind is able to let go of those fears. I'm inching toward TRUST that the wheels of our society are beginning to turn safely without my close watch over the daily drama. As our national security falls back into place. my mind feels able to start focusing back on dance planning. So last weekend I held two popup dances. and started to feel that little spark of happiness inside. That same spark I felt when I first discovered the bliss of dancing in college, then in later episodes of week-long dance sessions. After just the two sessions, I'm feeling my depressed energy being rekindled. First the fast tiny spark of tinder, which ignites bigger flame of kindling, then finally the slower log smolders into a long-lasting roaring flame. Like the lady in white sings, "'Cause there's a spark in you You just gotta ignite the light And let it shine Just own the night Like the Fourth of July 'Cause baby, you're a firework Come on, show 'em what you're worth" Let's find that spark in you, too. and get the fireworks ignited in your soul. Dance with you soon! __ Teacher Peggy
