After 10 good months teaching Sunday Social Dance at Palomar Ballroom, Santa Cruz I'm finally sending this second edition of SC Vintage Dance Gazette -- Social Dance News for Santa Cruz area.
Thanks for your patience, dear reader! This six-month delay is not due to lack of enthusiasm, but time, pre-empted by family needs, Uganda delegation, Senior High Grad Party, organizing international scholars, etc -- all good stuff. But finally, the dance news must go on! Since really, dance, including this Gazette, is all about our dreams coming true, isn't it? I'm not giving up and you can't either! Keep dreaming! Keep practicing that waltz step! You will get it! I'm proud already to see the great progress our dance students and I have made together in skill and friendship. We have learned (or attempted) Box Waltz, Cross-Step Waltz, Waltz-on-the-Fly, Movie Waltz, Oslo Waltz Mixer and Cross-step Waltz Mixer, Tango, Salsa, One-step, Nightclub 2-Step, Hustle, East Coast Swing, Polka, Kerry Polka, Tokyo Polka, T'smidge, Cha-cha, Merengue, and Hully Gully Rest assured we have not yet run out of dances to learn, only out of time to learn. Along with students learning to dance, I am learning to teach (thanks for your many forgiveness of glitches!) and most importantly, we are all learning to have fun WHILE we learn (not just someday when we get it “right”) And -- results may vary – but already at least one romance has resulted from our class ☺! And likewise, my dreams are to develop a strong Sunday Social dance community and to develop this into a quarterly news of
